The first version of BushSoft Accounts was created in a grass thatched mud hut during months in the spring of 1988 in Mali, West Africa! Mission and development project managers in Western Africa were in urgent need to transition from traditional manual paper book and calculator accounting to computer based accounting with modern reporting and foreign currency handling. And they challenged me to create an app to fulfill their requirements. It was coded in Turbo Pascal for the MS-DOS operating system using 3,5" diskettes for backup and data transfer! This pre-Windows version evolved and was in use by a number of projects until around year 2000. By then, a new, enhanced Windows version with up to 4 dimensions had been developed, and it quickly became popular among development agencies on four continents.
1: Learning to register vouchers the BushSoft way was very easy and quick, and could be taught to anyone who just had experience from manual typewriters. Many shortcut functions also made the accounting voucher recording procedures extremely fast.
2: The app produced foreign currency exchange rate corrected reports based on the money transfer date's rates (important for charity organization projects in high-inflation countries) .
3: Supporting up to 4 dimensions in addition to basic Accounts made it extremely flexible as of producing reports revealing any aspect of where and how money was used and collected.
4: Short way from customers to coders: When big customers need adaption to their corporate accounting we were quick to produce compatible data export formats.
A couple of years ago we released the current version: BushSoft NXAccounts. We are still working with the documentation (as you may see).
We have NEVER done ANY advertising and we are just happy when the words go from loyal customers to new customers.
